So it is that time of the year again. September, for us, is LRO show month. After a break in 2020, due to a certain virus, it's good to be back. We have constantly been playing catchup with orders all year, and rather than taking a massive selection of all our products, we stuck to the time-tested staples, bumpers, steering guards, and sliders.
As always, we were welcome on the Goodwinch stand, providing the much-loved winch and bumper package deals.
For once, we packed up and were on our way early Friday morning. The day was cloudy and not looking too promising, travel was uneventful until the A14 when the heavens opened, and torrential rain looked set to dampen the weekend. The rain continued until 15 miles away from our destination. By the time we reached the East of England Showground, the weather was drier, and the sun was breaking through the cloud. Caravan stabilized, kettle on, and plan of action put into practice. Awning and marquee erected between gossip and a few drinks, display stands assembled ready to display the products, and the challenge vehicles prepped for the following day arena show. Friday afternoon was a relaxed affair, catching up with the usual suspects, other traders, longtime acquaintances, regular customers, and friends.
Nighttime brought dinner at a local pub, alcohol, and hilarity with great company, a great way to finish a busy first day.
New Product! We had a new product launch at the show to gauge customer reaction. A range of 3D printed plastic accessories embossed with the Wildbear logo went down a storm, so these will be definite keepers to the product range.
Wheel center caps and safari snorkel top grilles in a range of colours will soon be available to purchase from our website and Facebook shop, so keep an eye out for those.
Saturday brought the sun. Blue skies and white fluffy clouds promised a beautiful day, an early start, with the guys setting up while two girls worked together to provide a hearty breakfast of bacon rolls and hot drinks. Once the kettle goes on, it is constantly on, providing much-needed hydration on a nonstop day.
Challenge trucks provided an exciting display in the arena to warm sunshine and large crowds.
While customers flooded the Goodwinch and Wildbear stand throughout the day, eager to grab the show bargains. It was a relief when the show closed, and we could get a break. Sadly there wasn't time to get many photos, but who cares for pictures when you have a busy day full of sales and social interactions.
Sundown brought the night display in the arena, loud music, bright lights, and excitement. Fast n loud vehicles, ragging it around taking high-speed jumps and facing technical challenges, such as a seesaw and a tire pile.
Cheering could be heard across the showground when one of the vehicles conquered the obstacles.
A massive thanks to Tracey of Team Danells for the pizza dinner that gave the perfect finish to a long and nonstop day.
Terrific weather blessed us on Sunday too, however many of our products sold on Saturday so, we had a limited display. Despite this, nothing stopped orders pouring in and people bagging the few items we had left.
Eventually, we packed our van and headed back up to the M6 and home.
Another year, and another LRO show over, we have great memories and many orders to fulfill. Thank you to everyone that made it a great weekend, and apologies to those we missed due to continuous trading and commitments.
Catch you next time.
